Money-Saving Tips
The basic idea is to creatively use what you already have to get the full potential and use out of all your make-up. So examine your make-up bag and the contents of that bottom drawer and see what versatile goodies are hiding in there. If you have a product you don't like and can't return think: If I can alter the color or formula will it be usable? Can I use it for something else or in a new way? The tips and ideas here will help when the seasons change and you need a different color or your make-up formula is no longer working with the weather. Or maybe you want to try a new look or trend without spending more money. You can also use these tips to custom mix your own make-up shades from very inexpensive products so you can stop spending lots of time and money searching for the exact shade you want. You will also be better prepared when you are caught away from home and have to touch up your make-up for a night out and creatively use whatever you happen to have in your purse. Remember: Don't be afraid to mix and play with your make-up! Have fun!
One caution regarding safety: Before you use any product for a use other than it is intended for, always read the label first. Look at the list of colors for any that say Ext. D & C before the color name. This means that it is for external use only, and should not be used around the eyes or on the lips. If you choose to use lipstick as eyeshadow, only apply it to the browbone and not on the eyelids or near the lashes. Some of the pigments could irritate sensitive eyes.
